Site NY-60R was one of three U.S. Army remote radar sites associated with the Nike missile batteries protecting the New York metropolitan area. The site was presumably constructed to provide enhanced radar coverage of the southern portions of this once heavily defended area. Relatively little is known about the history of this site at this time.
