Bryan Meadows is an associate professor with the Sammartino School of Education and director of Second Language Teacher Education programs. He joined the FDU faculty in 2011, having worked previously at the University of Texas, Pan-American.

His main research area is the relationship between nationalism and language education, but his scholarly interests extend to additional areas such as second language teacher education, intercultural education, applied linguistics, critical discourse analysis, and systemic functional linguistics.

His research can be found in peer-reviewed journals such as The International Journal of Applied Linguistics, International Journal of the Sociology of Language, Action in Teacher Education, Critical Inquiry in Language Studies, PROFILE Journal, Intercultural Education, HOW Journal, and Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis Across Disciplines, among other venues.

He has twice been an invited keynote speaker to the ASOCOPI Annual Conference (The Colombian National Association of Teachers of English). Together with a co-author, he received the 2012 Francis P. Hunkins Distinguished Article Award in Teaching for the article, Problematizing notions of decontextualized 'best practice'.
