Professor Adds Vital Link Between Corporate Communicators, Faculty and
Students
MORRISTOWN, N.J., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Gary P. Radford, Ph.D.,
Professor of Communication Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU),
Madison, N.J., was elected to the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Chapter
of the International Association of Business Communicators. In his new role,
Radford will work to foster links between academia and corporate communicators
in businesses throughout the state.

"One of our association's strategic goals is to establish closer
connections with colleges and universities and help students make entries into
the business world, be it through mentoring programs, internships or other job
opportunities that can launch their careers," says Andrew Miller, President,
NJ/IABC. "We are extremely pleased to have a person of Gary's professional
caliber join our Board to lead this effort."
Radford is Director of FDU's Master of Arts program in Corporate and
Organizational Communication. He joined FDU in September 1999, teaching
courses in interpersonal communication, communication theory and communication
philosophy. Prior to this, he spent nine years in the Department of
Communication at William Paterson University.
In 2003 Radford was selected Teacher of the Year by the Maxwell Becton
College of Arts and Sciences, FDU, and was also presented with the Equal
Opportunity Fund (EOF) Outstanding Faculty Award. This award is determined by
the EOF student body and presented to FDU faculty members who provide
exceptional service to their students.
Radford also serves as an Executive Board Member of The New Jersey
Communication Association and is a founding member and Editor-in-Chief of its
official publication, The Atlantic Journal of Communication. He is
past-President of The New York State Communication Association and the author
of numerous books and articles, including On the Philosophy of Communication,
published in 2004.
A native of Nottinghamshire, England, Radford received his bachelor's
degree in Communication Studies from Sheffield Hallam University in England
and a Masters Degree in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University
at Carbondale, Illinois. He earned his Ph.D. in Communication, Information,
and Library Studies from Rutgers University.
