Fairleigh Dickinson University

William Kennedy's twenty-seven-year career covers information technology as instructor, consultant, manager, user and vendor. As University Webmaster for one of New Jersey's largest private universities, he is now implementing technologies and policies that utilize the Internet to reach people both within the university and beyond it.

For ten years ending in October 1997, Kennedy served as Executive Director of NJIT's Center for Information Age Technology (CIAT), which provides computer technology consulting for nonprofits, small businesses, and local government. It was at CIAT that Kennedy first developed the 90-hour course structure for webmaster skills training.

Prior to joining CIAT, with the Dallas-based management consulting firm of Paul & Turner Inc., Kennedy managed and conducted product research and organization planning projects for high-tech corporation clients, including several of the Fortune 50.

At Mohawk Data Sciences (MDS), as Senior Director of Product and Market Planning, Kennedy was involved with products in the areas of office automation, electronic mail, telecommunications, multi-microprocessor architectures, and local area networks.  Previously, he held supervisory positions in data processing at Johnson and Johnson, and with the U.S. Army in Germany.
