Submission Instructions: Students
We seek essays (usually 500 – 1,500 words in length and a bit less formal in tone than our articles) and articles (usually 2,000 – 10,000 words in length).  Please review this site and examine past articles to get a sense of whether your submission is appropriate for this journal before submitting your work to bpeabody@fdu.edu or gadsden@fdu.edu.

We do not review work that has been previously published elsewhere, in part or whole - unless you receive explicit permission from the editors, in advance.  All work submitted to Lexicon, must be original; by submitting to Lexicon, a student is affirming that the submission is solely the student's (and any co-authors') product.

We will acknowledge receipt of your submission within 10  days of receiving it.  If you do not hear from us in this time, please contact us or resubmit your document.

Students wishing to submit their work to Lexicon should adhere to the following instructions.  Mistakes or missing information may delay or even prevent your work from being reviewed.  Sample submission.

(c) the title of the piece

(d) the name, mailing address, email address, and phone number of a faculty member who has read or helped you with your piece

3) Your paper should use proper citations and should include a bibliography and any necessary footnotes.  For citations use either a parenthetic Author, Year, page number format - e.g., (Smith 2004, 23) or the University of Chicago formatting system.
