FDU's Practicum in History, Political Science and Sociology,
is a three credit course in either History, Political Science,
or Sociology, that combines the traditional classroom setting with the
practical experience of an internship. We invite you to find out
more about the Practicum program by going to our website.
What follows are some quotations from students who have recently
taken the class:
-
"The knowledge that I gained through the first hand experience
of an internship was more educational than anything I could have learned
in a classroom. It made me more secure in my major and what I want
to pursue as my career."
-Graduate Student, Psychology
-
"In the few months working for the ACLU, I have learned
about a vast number of legal issues, specially those pertaining to individual
rights. As an intern I not only had the opportunity to see closely
the work of this organization but I was also able to learn about legal
developments taking place in congress. As a future law student, I am certain
that the knowledge of law that I have acquired in this internship will
be a tool which will help me in my law school application process."
-Senior, Political Science
-
"I enjoyed this experience very much, and it helped me
to learn more about things I did not know much about. It also helped me
to gain more practice in the field of education, which I will need
in the future."
-History major
-
"...I had the best time working in public history."
-History major
-
"It was such a positive experience for me..."
