Dr. Rajesh Chandrashekaran is currently Associate Professor of Marketing in the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He obtained a BS degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), which is one of the premier institutions in India. After graduating from KREC, Rajesh worked briefly as a marketing analyst/trainee at TVS-Suzuki Ltd., where he spent time researching and understanding consumer perceptions of existing motorcycles. Subsequently, Rajesh earned MBA and PhD degrees in Marketing from Rutgers University (Newark, NJ).
Rajesh’s primary research interests are related to behavioral issues in pricing. In particular, his research attempts to understand how consumers perceive, evaluate, encode, remember and recall price information, and how marketing communications tactics (retail price advertising) influence these processes. Rajesh has published his research in several prestigious academic journals including Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research and Journal of Consumer Affairs. In addition, he has co-authored a book chapter dealing with the effectiveness of rotating banner advertisements on the World Wide Web. He has also presented and published numerous articles in the Proceedings of leading national and international conferences.
